TAIPEI TRADE OFFICE IN COLOMBIA DELIVERS DONATION FOR SCHOOL PROJECT IN THE ALTA GUAJIRA

May 5, 2016: The Taipei Trade Office, headed by the Honorable Representative Antonio Yeh and Director Dr. Robert Kuan-peng Lee, donated seventy million pesos to the Prosowa Foundation for the work that Prosowa carries out with Fundepaz NY at the Indigenous Boarding School of Nazareth. This social and humanitarian project, to be supervised by the Diocese of Riohacha, seeks to expand primary education opportunities for children in the Alta Guajira. The project known as "Tayunkeru" ("Yes I can" in the indigenous language of the region) consists of 7 classrooms that will offer educational opportunities for more than 210 children. In these same classrooms, staff and head-of-family mothers will be able to receive artisanal, health, and professional training through different strategic alliances with public and private entities in Colombia.
