Water for life in La Guajira

Between 2013 and 2014 the Prosowa Foundation, in partnership with the Autonomous Corporation of La Guajira, delivered more than 1500 liters of water to the Alta Guajira as part of health interventions carried out with the Hospital of Nazareth.

On October 18, 2015, Prosowa officially awarded 25 million pesos to Aquaton, led every year by Cerrejón as part of the enormous efforts made by local and international foundations to contribute to the grave problem of potable water access in La Guajira.

Prosowa, since the start of its international initiative "Water for Life in La Guajira" with the May 12, 2015 launch event at the NYU Kimmel Center, has contributed to the installation of water wells with solar pumping systems and community storage from which more than 278 Wayuú families in Zona Vereda and Amoyuwou continue to benefit. These contributions have also helped more than 930 families in surrounding areas and 129 students who have been able to use the tanks for indirect or temporary water supply.
